COURSE CURRICULUM

The Certificate in Health and Medical Humanities offered by Campion College and the University of Regina provides an interdisciplinary exploration of how medicine, health, illness, and the human body are understood within social, cultural, historical, and ethical contexts. This program examines the ways societies, both past and present, construct and interpret concepts of wellness, disease, healing, and healthcare practices, drawing on insights from the humanities and social sciences. Taught by faculty with expertise in the field, it is one of the few specialized certificates in Canada dedicated to health and medical humanities, offering students a distinctive academic experience. The certificate is intended to be completed on a part-time basis alongside other degree programs, as many courses require prerequisites that may extend the time needed for completion if additional preparation is required. It is particularly well suited for students enrolled in humanities disciplines such as English, History, Philosophy, Classics, and Religious Studies, as well as those in social sciences, pre-professional tracks, nursing, creative arts, natural sciences, and health sciences.
