COURSE CURRICULUM

The Certificate in Economics is a comprehensive academic program designed to develop a strong foundation in economic theory, analytical reasoning, and real-world application, requiring the completion of 30.0 credit hours. The program includes a set of required courses that build core knowledge in both microeconomics and macroeconomics, beginning with ECON 201 and ECON 202, each worth 3.0 credit hours. Students must also complete one additional ECON course, with ECON 100 highly recommended as an introductory option, along with another ECON course that may include interdisciplinary options such as ADMN/BUS 340. To further deepen their understanding, students are required to complete three additional ECON courses totaling 9.0 credit hours, allowing for broader exposure to various economic topics and specializations. The curriculum also includes ENGL 100, a 3.0 credit hour course aimed at strengthening communication and academic writing skills, which are essential for economic analysis and reporting.
