COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology is a 120-credit-hour advanced program designed for students who want an intensive, research-focused education in the scientific study of behavior, cognition, and mental processes. The program requires 66 credit hours in the major, beginning with foundational courses such as PSYC 101, 102, 204, 210, 220, 230, 255, 270, and 305, which establish core knowledge in areas like developmental, social, biological, and cognitive psychology as well as research methods. Students then complete three additional 300- or 400-level PSYC courses, followed by advanced requirements including a 400-level PSYC course, PSYC 400AA and 400AB, PSYC 405, and PSYC 408, which emphasize advanced theory, research design, and data analysis. Cognate science courses are also required, including MATH 103 or 110, BIOL 100 and 101, CHEM 104, and CS 110 or alternatives such as CS 165 or STAT 165, ensuring strong quantitative and scientific training. The program also includes Arts Core Requirements such as ENGL 100 and 110, along with electives in arts, media, and performance areas. Students complete additional science-based electives from disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, and mathematics with lab components, as well as open electives for academic flexibility. A minimum 75% major GPA and 70% overall PGPA and UGPA are required for graduation.
