COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science Honours Combined Major in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Regina is a highly advanced four-year undergraduate program designed for students who want strong expertise in both computing and mathematical sciences, particularly for research or graduate studies. The program requires 120 credit hours and includes a rigorous set of core computer science courses such as CS 110, 115, 201, 210, 220, 261 or MATH 261, 320, 321, 340, 361 or MATH 361, and CS 412. Students also complete either a set of CS honours research courses (CS 488, 498, 499) or MATH honours courses (MATH 497, 498), depending on their specialization path. The mathematics component is extensive, covering MATH 110, 111, 122, 213, 217, 221, 222, 223, 305, 312, 313, and 327, along with STAT 160 or 200. Students further deepen their expertise by completing two advanced courses from MATH 322, 323, 329, 427 or CS 410, 411, and two additional courses from MATH 301, 381, CS 350, or 461. The program also includes ENGL 100 and 110, arts or media electives, natural science electives, and open electives for academic balance. To graduate, students must maintain a minimum 65% PGPA and 60% UGPA, reflecting the program’s strong academic and research-focused standards.
