COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology is a 120-credit-hour program that combines the scientific study of behavior and mental processes with a strong foundation in natural sciences and quantitative methods. The program requires 54 credit hours in the major, beginning with core psychology courses such as PSYC 101, 102, 204, 210, 220, 230, 255, 270, and 305, which introduce key areas including developmental, social, cognitive, and biological psychology as well as research methods. Students then complete four additional PSYC courses at the 300- or 400-level to gain advanced knowledge and specialization. In addition to psychology coursework, students complete cognate science requirements including MATH 103 or 110, BIOL 100 and 101, CHEM 104, and CS 110 or alternatives such as CS 165 or STAT 165, ensuring strong quantitative and scientific training. The program also includes Arts Core Requirements such as ENGL 100 and 110, along with electives in arts, science, media, and performance areas. Students must also complete science-focused electives, including courses from physics, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, or physics with laboratory components, to strengthen empirical and analytical skills. Additional open electives provide flexibility for broader academic exploration. A minimum 65% major GPA and 60% overall PGPA and UGPA are required for graduation.
