COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Regina is a comprehensive four-year program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computing theory, programming, and practical software development. The degree requires a total of 120 credit hours, with a major emphasis on core computer science courses such as CS 110, 115, 180, 201, 210, 220, 280, 301, 320, 321, 330, 335, 340, 350, 372, 375, 435, and 476, along with additional 400-level CS electives that allow for specialization in advanced topics. Students also complete essential mathematics and statistics courses including MATH 110, 122, 221, and STAT 160 or 200, as well as an upper-level math or statistics course above 200. Supporting requirements include ENGL 100 and 110 for communication skills, two natural science electives, four arts or media-related electives, and six open electives to provide academic breadth. The program ensures that students develop both theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving skills needed for modern computing careers. To graduate, students must maintain a minimum 65% PGPA and 60% UGPA, along with satisfactory performance in their major. Overall, this program prepares graduates for careers in software development, data analysis, systems design, cybersecurity, and further studies in computer science or related technical fields.
