COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science Combined Major in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Regina is a four-year undergraduate program that integrates two highly analytical disciplines to develop strong problem-solving, computational, and mathematical reasoning skills. The program requires a total of 120 credit hours, with a core set of computer science courses including CS 110, 115, 201, 210, 220, 320, 321, 340, and either CS 261 or MATH 261, as well as CS 361 or MATH 361. Alongside this, students complete an extensive mathematics sequence covering MATH 110, 111, 122, 213, 217, 221, 222, 223, 305, 312, and 327, ensuring deep mathematical training. Statistical knowledge is developed through STAT 160 or 200, and students also complete three upper-level MATH or CS courses at the 300-level or higher. The program includes ENGL 100 and 110 for communication skills, four arts or media electives, two natural science electives, and seven open electives to ensure academic breadth. This combined major is designed for students interested in fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, scientific computing, and research-oriented careers. To graduate, students must maintain a minimum 65% PGPA and 60% UGPA, ensuring strong academic performance across both disciplines.
