COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc in Chemistry at the University of Regina is a four-year undergraduate program designed to provide a strong foundation in chemical sciences along with supporting studies in biology, mathematics, physics, and computing. The program requires a total of 120 credit hours. Core chemistry courses include CHEM 104, 105, 140, 210, 215, 230, 241, 250, 251, 312, 330, 340, and 360, along with two 400-level chemistry courses that provide advanced knowledge and specialization. Students also complete supporting science courses such as BIOL 100 and BIOC 220 to strengthen interdisciplinary understanding. Mathematics requirements include MATH 110, 111, 122, and 213, while physics requirements include PHYS 109 and 119 or PHYS 111 and 112. Students also develop computational skills through CS 110, 115, or 165. In addition to major courses, the program includes ENGL 100 and 110, four arts or media electives, four science electives, and six open electives to ensure a broad-based education. To graduate, students must maintain a minimum 65% PGPA and 60% UGPA, along with satisfactory performance in major courses. Overall, this program prepares students for careers in chemistry, research, industry, pharmaceuticals, and further studies in graduate or professional programs.
