COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in Human Resource Management at the University of Regina is structured to develop strong managerial, organizational, and people-focused skills for modern workplaces. Students may declare their major after completing at least 60 credit hours of the BBA program and successfully finishing all required foundation courses, including BUS 007, BUS 100, BUS 205, BUS 210, BUS 250, BUS 260, BUS 275, BUS 285, BUS 288, and BUS 290. These introductory courses build essential knowledge in business fundamentals such as accounting, economics, management principles, communication, and organizational behaviour. The Human Resource Management major itself requires 15 credit hours of specialized coursework. Students complete BUS 453 as a core advanced HR course that focuses on strategic human resource practices and organizational leadership. In addition, students select three courses from BUS 301 or the BUS 350–369 range, allowing them to explore key areas such as staffing, labour relations, employee development, and workplace policies. Finally, students take one advanced course from BUS 450–469 or BUS 473, providing deeper specialization in topics such as HR strategy, organizational change, or advanced management practices. Overall, this major equips students with the knowledge and skills to manage recruitment, training, compensation, employee relations, and workplace strategy, preparing them for careers in human resources and organizational leadership across diverse industries.
