COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance major within the Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Regina is a structured program that combines core business education with specialized financial training to prepare students for careers in banking, corporate finance, investment analysis, and financial management. The Finance major requires 18 credit hours of advanced finance coursework, including BUS 395, BUS 494, BUS 495, and BUS 497. Students also complete one course from BUS 491 or BUS 498, along with another approved upper-level finance-related course selected from BUS 390–399, BUS 472 (various topics), or BUS 490–499. These courses focus on key areas such as investments, portfolio management, financial analysis, and advanced financial decision-making. Alongside the major, students complete the Bachelor of Business Administration core requirements, which include foundational business courses like BUS 100, BUS 205, BUS 210, BUS 250, BUS 260, BUS 275, BUS 285, BUS 288, BUS 290, BUS 306, BUS 307, BUS 375, and BUS 400. Students also take supporting courses in economics (ECON 201 and 202), mathematics (MATH 103 or 110), statistics (STAT 100 or 160), computer science (CS 100 or 110), and English (ENGL 100). Additional breadth requirements include electives from humanities, social sciences, and other disciplines.
