COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design within the Creative Technologies and Design area at the University of Regina is an interdisciplinary program that combines art, science, technology, and culture to develop innovative ways of thinking and creating. It focuses on emerging digital practices such as computer graphics, 3D animation, digital storytelling, video production, digital music, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), interactive media, sound design, gaming, software development, 3D printing, and wearable technologies. Students gain both technical and conceptual skills to design immersive and meaningful experiences across multiple media platforms. The program includes courses such as CTCH 204 (Introduction to Creative Coding), CTCH 213 (Branding, Advertising and Design), CTCH 215 (Visual Identity Design), CTCH 216 (3D Animation), and CTCH 306 (Digital Storytelling and Interactive Media), which build foundations in visual communication and media production. Advanced courses like CTCH 312 (Game and VR Design), CTCH 314 (3D Animation Design), CTCH 301 (Play), CTCH 313 (Augmented Reality), and CTCH 302 (Augmentation) explore experimental and interactive technologies. Students are encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and engage in hands-on studio work while developing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in digital media, game design, animation, interactive technologies, and creative industries.
