COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Energy Systems Engineering – Sustainable Energy Engineering Option at the University of Regina is a 136-credit-hour professional engineering program designed to prepare students for careers in renewable energy and sustainable power systems. The program is delivered over nine terms and begins with foundational courses in science, mathematics, and engineering, including CHEM 104, PHYS 109, MATH 110, 111, and 122, along with ENGG 100, ENGG 123, ENGG 140, CS 110, and ENGL 100. In the early and middle years, students develop core engineering knowledge through courses such as ENEL 280, ENER 201, ENER 203, ENEV 223, ENEV 261, ENIN 233, ENIN 253, ENGG 303, and ENGG 330, supported by advanced mathematics and statistics (MATH 217, 213, STAT 289). The program then shifts toward sustainable energy systems with specialized courses like ENER 301, 305, 351, 371, 451, 453, 455, and 457, which focus on renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and nuclear systems. Professional and interdisciplinary learning is strengthened through ENGG 401, ENER 409, business (BUS 260), economics (ECON 201), humanities electives, and approved electives.
