COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is a 120-credit-hour program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the scientific study of human behavior, cognition, and mental processes. The major requires 39 credit hours in Psychology, beginning with core introductory and intermediate courses such as PSYC 101, 102, 204, 210, 220, 230, 255, 270, and 305, which build essential knowledge in areas like developmental psychology, social psychology, biological bases of behavior, and research methods. Students then complete four additional 300- or 400-level PSYC courses, allowing for deeper specialization in advanced psychological topics. The program is supported by Arts Core Requirements, including ENGL 100, INDG 100, logical and numerical reasoning, humanities, social sciences, Indigenous knowledge, media and arts, science, and language courses, ensuring a well-rounded liberal arts education. Students also complete 54 credit hours of open electives, providing flexibility to explore other academic disciplines or complement their psychology studies. The program develops strong analytical, research, and communication skills, preparing graduates for careers in fields such as healthcare, education, business, social services, and research, as well as for further studies in psychology or related professional programs. A minimum 65% major GPA and 60% overall PGPA and UGPA are required for graduation.
