COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is a 120-credit-hour program that provides students with a broad and structured understanding of political systems, theory, and global governance. The major requires 39 credit hours in Political Science, beginning with foundational courses such as PSCI 100, 210, 220, 230, and 240, along with SOST 203. Students then advance to upper-level study by completing three 300-level PSCI courses and three 400-level PSCI courses, ensuring in-depth exploration of political topics and research methods. An additional requirement includes one PSCI course or PPE 200 to further support interdisciplinary understanding. The program also includes Arts Core Requirements, such as ENGL 100, INDG 100, logical and numerical reasoning, humanities, social sciences, Indigenous knowledge, media and arts, science, and language study, although some requirements are fulfilled within the major. Students complete 54 credit hours of open electives, allowing flexibility to explore other academic areas and build complementary skills. The program emphasizes critical thinking, research, communication, and analytical abilities, preparing students for careers in government, public policy, law, international relations, journalism, and related fields. A minimum 65% major GPA and 60% overall PGPA and UGPA are required for graduation, ensuring strong academic performance throughout the degree.
