COURSE CURRICULUM

BA in English the curriculum typically includes about 45 credit hours in English courses. Students begin with foundational courses such as ENGL 100 (Critical Reading and Writing I) and ENGL 110 (Critical Reading and Writing II), which build essential reading and composition skills. After this, students choose from a wide range of literature courses covering different periods, genres, and themes, such as Canadian literature, Shakespeare, poetry, drama, Indigenous literature, cultural studies, and creative writing. Upper-level courses allow students to explore specialized topics like literature and the environment, adaptation studies, and contemporary literary criticism, while also including options in writing and media-related studies.
