COURSE CURRICULUM

The Radiography program at UPEI spans four years, combining foundational science courses, specialized radiography training, and extensive clinical experience. In the first year, students complete core courses in biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, and psychology, alongside university orientation, totaling 30 to 31 credit hours. The second year focuses on radiography fundamentals, including anatomy and physiology, radiographic techniques, patient care, radiography physics, digital imaging, computed tomography, and clinical placements, amounting to 30 credit hours. In the third year, students deepen their knowledge with advanced radiographic techniques, pathology, radiation protection, sectional anatomy, and further clinical rotations, supplemented by statistics, Indigenous teachings, and arts electives, totaling 33 credit hours. The fourth year emphasizes advanced radiography topics such as quality management, patient care, pathology, clinical experience, and clinical radiography, along with a writing-intensive course, research methods, psychology electives, and general electives, adding up to 27 credit hours. This comprehensive structure integrates academic study with hands-on practice in hospitals, equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career as professional radiographers.
