COURSE CURRICULUM

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology must complete the Psychology course requirements outlined for the Bachelor of Arts degree, ensuring a strong foundation in psychology theory and research methods. In addition to these psychology courses, BSc students are required to complete at least seven courses (21 semester hours) within the Faculty of Science to enhance their scientific knowledge and analytical skills. Specifically, students must earn credit in Biology 1310 and 1320, which provide essential biological sciences background relevant to psychology. They must also complete either Mathematics 1120 or Mathematics 1910 to develop quantitative and analytical competencies. Furthermore, students are required to complete Chemistry 1110 and 1120 or Physics 1210 and 1220, giving them a solid grounding in physical sciences. Finally, two courses at the 2000-level or above with laboratory components must be taken in the same discipline among Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Foods and Nutrition, fostering practical scientific skills and in-depth understanding in a specific scientific area. These additional science requirements distinguish the BSc degree by emphasizing empirical and experimental approaches, preparing students for science-focused careers or graduate studies that integrate psychology with biological or physical sciences.
