COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business specialization in the Bachelor of Business Administration program prepares students to navigate the vast opportunities and challenges of global commerce. Beyond the core BBA curriculum, students must complete an international academic exchange or international co-op work term, documented by registering for Business 3860 or Business 3940. International students studying at UPEI automatically fulfill this requirement but must register accordingly. The specialization requires four core courses: Introduction to International Business, Intercultural Management, International Marketing, and International Finance, providing foundational knowledge of global business operations. Additionally, students select five electives from a diverse range of multidisciplinary courses that deepen their understanding of global cultures, politics, economics, and societies. These electives include courses from Business, Modern Languages, Asian Studies, History, Political Science, Anthropology, Economics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology/Anthropology, covering topics such as international trade, economic development, cultural anthropology, globalization, and world religions. This broad academic exposure equips students with cultural awareness, analytical skills, and practical experience through international engagement. The International Business specialization aims to develop globally minded graduates ready to manage and lead in complex international environments, making them valuable assets in today’s interconnected world economy.
