COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at McDougall Faculty of Business is a comprehensive four-year program requiring 120 semester hours, designed to provide a strong foundation in business principles and practices. Students must complete mandatory courses including IKE-1040 (Indigenous Teachings of Turtle Island), one of UPEI-1010, 1020, or 1030, and a Writing Intensive Course as per academic regulations. The curriculum is organized by levels, starting with 1000-level courses such as Financial Accounting, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Finite Mathematics, and Writing Studies. The 2000-level courses build on these fundamentals with Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Business Communications, Management Information Systems, Management Science, Human Resource Management, and Research and Evidence-Based Management. At the 3000-level, students engage with Business Law, Integrated Cases in Finance or Personal Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management. The 4000-level courses include Developing Management Skills and Business Research. Students interested in a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation can specialize in accounting by completing additional advanced accounting courses such as Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, and Income Taxation. This structured program prepares graduates for diverse leadership roles in business and equips accounting specialization students with the expertise necessary for professional certification.
