COURSE CURRICULUM

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology must complete at least fourteen semester courses (42 semester hours) while meeting specific academic requirements to ensure a well-rounded education in the field. The program mandates the completion of five core courses: Psychology 1010 (Introduction to Psychology—Part I), Psychology 1020 (Introduction to Psychology—Part II), Psychology 2700 (Quantitative Research Methods), Psychology 2730 (Qualitative Methods and Analysis), and Psychology 2750 (Quantitative Analysis). These foundational courses provide essential knowledge in psychological theories and research methods. In addition, students must select at least one course from six out of seven designated psychology areas, ensuring exposure to a broad range of topics within the discipline. To guarantee advanced learning, students are required to take a minimum of two courses at the 3000-level or above and at least one course at the 4000-level, which offers more specialized or in-depth study opportunities. This structure balances foundational learning with specialized knowledge and research skills, preparing students for diverse career paths or graduate studies.
