COURSE CURRICULUM

This interdisciplinary program provides students with a strong foundation in environmental planning, governance, and community development. Core courses like BIOL 110, ENVS 101, and GEOG 206 introduce ecological principles, environmental citizenship, and the human-environment relationship. Upper-division study emphasizes applied learning through studios such as ENPL 415 (Sustainable and Inclusive Design) and specialized options like the Indigenous Planning Studio or Local Climate Action Studio. Students also gain insight into political structures through courses like POLS 350 (Law and Municipal Government) and choose from a broad selection of electives in anthropology, geography, economics, and environmental science. This flexible curriculum equips students with both theoretical and practical tools to address pressing environmental and social challenges at local and global levels.
