COURSE CURRICULUM

The Women's Studies program provides an interdisciplinary exploration of gender, power, and social justice from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Students begin with WMST 100 and three additional lower-division courses, establishing a strong foundation in feminist theory and gender analysis. Upper-division requirements include core courses such as WMST 302 and WMST 307, which focus on women's roles in today's world and introduce qualitative research methods. The program allows for further specialization through courses like Indigenous Women: Perspectives, History of Feminism, and Contemporary Women’s Literature. Students complete the program with seven electives drawn from disciplines such as anthropology, economics, health, and political science, emphasizing intersectional approaches and the global diversity of women's experiences.
