COURSE CURRICULUM

The Women's Studies program offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding gender, power, and social justice through both historical and contemporary lenses. Students begin with WMST 100 and three additional lower-division courses, building a strong foundation in feminist thought and gender studies. In upper-division study, core courses like WMST 302 and WMST 307 explore women's roles in modern society and introduce qualitative research methods. Students further personalize their studies by selecting from a range of specialized courses, including Indigenous Women: Perspectives, History of Feminism, and Contemporary Women's Literature. The program is rounded out with seven elective courses from a wide selection in disciplines such as anthropology, economics, political science, and health, emphasizing intersectionality and the diverse experiences of women globally and locally.
