The Bachelor of Arts in Geography offers students a comprehensive understanding of the Earth's physical and human landscapes, focusing on both environmental and social issues. It then progresses to more specialized areas, including GIS, health geography, and community development. In the upper division, students delve into advanced topics such as environmental justice, remote sensing, and the geographies of culture, rights, and power. The degree also includes opportunities for fieldwork and independent studies. The Joint Major Programs in Geography allow students to combine Geography with other disciplines. The Joint Major in Anthropology and Geography integrates historical methods, anthropology, and geography to study cultures, landscapes, and environments. The Joint Major in Geography and Political Science focuses on the intersection of geographical and political issues, emphasizing Canadian politics, international relations, and environmental decision-making.
