COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Health Care Management program is a structured graduate degree requiring a total of 45 credits, including 30 credits of coursework, a 6-credit practicum, and a 9-credit capstone project. In Year 1 Term 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Health Care Systems and Finance for Managers, along with either an elective or an introductory course in health and health care, establishing essential knowledge in management principles and the structure of health care organizations. Term 2 builds on this foundation with courses in Leadership and Human Resource Management in Health Care Organizations, Health Economics and Financing, and Health Policy and Performance Measurement, providing both strategic and analytical skills needed to navigate complex health care environments. In Term 3, the curriculum emphasizes applied knowledge through Technology Applications in Health Care Management, Health Care Accessibility and Equity, and an elective course, allowing students to explore specialized topics and integrate technological and policy considerations into management practices. Term 4 serves as a scheduled break. Year 2 Term 5 focuses on Emerging Topics in Health Care Management and the 6-credit practicum, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge and management skills in real-world health care settings. The program concludes in Term 6 with a 9-credit capstone project, where students synthesize their learning and complete a comprehensive project that addresses a significant health care management challenge.
