COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Data Analytics program offers a rigorous, hands-on curriculum designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in data science and analytics. In Year 1, Term 1, students begin with Principles of Analytics, gaining foundational skills in data collection, cleaning, visualization, and statistical analysis, along with ethical considerations. They also study SQL Databases to master querying and manipulating data within relational databases, and Python for Data Analysis, focusing on statistical analysis, data manipulation, and visualization using tools like Jupyter, NumPy, and Pandas. The term culminates in Data Analytics Case Study 1, where students apply their learning to solve a marketing-related data problem. In Term 2, Predictive Analytics builds on previous knowledge by introducing regression, forecasting, and machine learning applications. Data Warehousing and Visualization teaches students to create end-to-end data models and dashboards using Power BI. Marketing Analytics explores how organizations use data in pricing, promotion, and campaign performance. Data Analytics Case Study 2 allows students to apply machine learning to an operational decision problem. In Term 3, students explore Prescriptive Analytics using optimization models, Advanced Data Visualization using Tableau, and Operations Analytics to understand supply chain and efficiency challenges. Data Analytics Case Study 3 tasks students with solving complex decision problems using machine learning and visualization tools. Year 2, Term 1 introduces Agile Software Development for adaptive project execution in analytics. Students choose between an Advanced Analytics Internship or Advanced Data Analytics, paired with a Machine Learning course that covers neural networks and algorithmic modeling. Finally, Year 2, Term 2 is dedicated to a Capstone Project, a client-based consulting experience where students manage all phases of a big data project, integrating the full spectrum of analytical skills acquired throughout the program to deliver actionable insights and real-world solutions in partnership with industry or community organizations.
