COURSE CURRICULUM

Soil Science MSc program must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework, including the mandatory course SOIL 7220: Principles of Scientific Research and Communication. Additionally, students are required to take at least three credit hours of Soil Science courses at the 7000 level to deepen their understanding of specialized topics in the field. The program offers a diverse range of courses that address various aspects of soil science, including SOIL 7170: Agricultural Micrometeorology, which studies the interactions between agriculture and atmospheric conditions, and SOIL 7180: Environmental Chemistry of Pesticides and Related Compounds, focusing on the environmental impact and chemical behavior of pesticides. Other courses include SOIL 7210: Topics in Soil Fertility, exploring nutrient management for crop production, and SOIL 7230 and SOIL 7240, which cover Landscape Processes I and II, respectively, delving into soil and water interactions within landscapes. SOIL 7250: Topics in Soil Science and SOIL 7270: Advanced Soil Ecology offer advanced insights into soil biology and ecosystem functions. This coursework prepares students with a solid foundation in soil science principles and research skills essential for addressing environmental and agricultural challenges.
