COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Natural Resources Management (MNRM) program follow an individualized Study Plan tailored to their academic and professional goals. This plan includes 12 credit hours of required courses, a minimum of 9 credit hours of elective courses, and completion of either a master’s thesis or practicum. The thesis option involves an independent research project that addresses a practical issue in natural resources and environmental management, requiring interdisciplinary approaches. Alternatively, the practicum option allows students to work closely with a faculty member and an external project partner to develop a project proposal, secure funding, and deliver a final product along with a reflective Practicum Document. Each student is assigned a faculty advisor, typically selected before or during the application process, who guides the student throughout the program. The advisor acts as a consultant for the student’s specific area of study and assists in creating the Study Plan. The Study Plan serves two main purposes: to define a clear research direction and to organize coursework for the integration and synthesis of interdisciplinary knowledge. This personalized approach ensures students develop practical skills and academic expertise to address complex environmental challenges effectively.
