COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (MEng) program requires students to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours, which includes 24 credit hours of coursework—with at least 18 credits at the 7000 level—and an additional 6 credit hours dedicated to an MEng project and report. This structure ensures that students gain both advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience through a significant applied project. The program emphasizes collaboration across various disciplines and encourages students to engage with faculty and research efforts beyond their immediate area of study. The department is organized into seven main research areas, each focusing on critical aspects of civil engineering. These include Environmental engineering, which addresses sustainability and resource management; Geotechnical engineering, focusing on soil and foundation mechanics; Structures, emphasizing the design and analysis of buildings and infrastructure; Transportation, dedicated to the planning and development of efficient transport systems; Water resources, focusing on the management and preservation of water systems; Construction engineering and management, which deals with the efficient delivery of construction projects; and Masonry and cementitious materials, exploring the properties and applications of building materials. Together, these areas offer students a comprehensive foundation to tackle the complex challenges of modern civil engineering while contributing to sustainable and innovative solutions for society.
