COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing program offers a range of courses designed to deepen your knowledge and skills in advanced nursing practice. Sample course offerings include Philosophy of Nursing Science (NURS 7320), Qualitative Research Methods in Nursing (NURS 7210), Quantitative Research Methods in Nursing (NURS 7220), Evidence Informed Practice (NURS 7340), Leadership in Advanced Practice Nursing (NURS 7352), and Integrative Focus or electives outside nursing (NURS 7360). These courses provide a solid foundation in research methods, leadership, and evidence-based care.Students can choose between two completion options: the thesis or the course-based Capstone Project. For those selecting the thesis option in the Education, Administration, or Clinical streams, the program requires completing 21 credit hours culminating in a research thesis. This process involves identifying and defining a research question, engaging in systematic inquiry, demonstrating mastery of a specialized nursing area, producing a scholarly document, and defending the thesis in academic and public forums.Alternatively, the Capstone Project option requires completing 21 credit hours plus six credit hours of electives, totaling 27 credit hours.
