COURSE CURRICULUM

The Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) program offers a range of courses designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Core courses include PEAC 7010, which focuses on interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and trust-building, essential for effective conflict management. PEAC 7020 explores various theories of conflict and resolution, providing a strong theoretical foundation. Violence intervention and prevention are covered in PEAC 7040, while PEAC 7050 addresses intercultural conflict resolution and peacebuilding, emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity. Social justice and peacebuilding strategies are the focus of PEAC 7120, and PEAC 7122 examines dispute systems design, teaching students how to create effective conflict resolution mechanisms. Gender perspectives in conflict and peacemaking are explored in PEAC 7124, highlighting the role of gender in peace processes. Finally, PEAC 7240 introduces Indigenous world views and approaches to peacebuilding, enriching students' understanding of diverse cultural perspectives in conflict resolution.
