COURSE CURRICULUM

The Statistics program offers a variety of courses designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of data analysis and statistical methods. Introductory courses such as STAT 1000: Basic Statistical Analysis 1 and STAT 1150: Introduction to Statistics and Computing lay the foundation by teaching fundamental concepts and essential computing skills. Building on this foundation, STAT 2150: Statistics and Computing deepens students' understanding of statistical software and data analysis techniques. STAT 2300: Principles of Data Collection focuses on the critical process of gathering accurate and reliable data for analysis. More advanced courses include STAT 3030: Introduction to Stochastic Processes, which explores random processes and their applications. STAT 3170: Statistical Quality Control teaches methods for monitoring and improving quality in manufacturing and service industries. Time series analysis, an important technique for analyzing data collected over time, is covered in STAT 3490: Time Series Analysis. STAT 4170: Lifetime Data Analysis focuses on the analysis of time-to-event data, essential in fields such as medicine and engineering. Finally, STAT 4530: Design of Experiments introduces students to experimental design principles, enabling them to plan and conduct effective research studies.
