COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering program offers a broad range of courses that provide students with both foundational knowledge and specialized skills across various disciplines. Early in the program, students are introduced to core concepts through courses such as ENG 1430: Design in Engineering, which emphasizes problem-solving and design thinking, and ENG 2040: Engineering Communication, which develops professional communication skills essential in the industry. COMP 1012: Computer Programming for Scientists and Engineers builds coding and computational thinking skills. As students progress into their chosen disciplines, they explore more specialized topics. For example, biosystems engineering students may take BIOE 2480: Impact of Engineering on the Environment and BIOE 3590: Mechanics of Materials in Biosystems, which focus on sustainability and biological systems. Civil engineering students engage in CIVL 3760: Structural Analysis and CIVL 4400: Transportation Engineering Design, exploring infrastructure design and traffic systems. Electrical engineering students benefit from courses such as ECE 2262: Electric Circuits and ECE 3760: Signal Processing 1, which focus on electronics and communications. Mechanical engineering students are introduced to machine elements and system design through MECH 3652: Machine Design and MECH 3542: Stress Analysis and Design.
