Introductory courses such as CHEM 1100: Introductory Chemistry 1: Atomic and Molecular Structure and Energetics and CHEM 1110: Introductory Chemistry 2: Interaction, Reactivity and Chemical Properties establish fundamental concepts about the nature of atoms, molecules, and their behaviors. Practical laboratory skills are developed in courses like CHEM 1120: Introduction to Chemistry Techniques and CHEM 2122: Experimental Organic Chemistry, where students gain hands-on experience with chemical techniques and organic synthesis. More advanced courses such as CHEM 4110: Introduction to Computational Chemistry introduce students to computer-based methods for modeling chemical processes, while CHEM 4360: Signalling and Regulation of Gene Expression explores biochemical pathways and molecular biology within a chemical context.
