COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agronomy (BSc) program at the University of Manitoba offers a wide range of courses designed to deepen students’ understanding of soil and plant science as well as sustainable crop production and land management. Courses such as PLNT 4510: Advanced Cropping Systems provide in-depth knowledge on optimizing crop production systems for various environmental conditions. SOIL 3600: Soils and Landscapes in Our Environment and SOIL 4520: Soil Fertility focus on understanding soil properties, nutrient management, and their impacts on agricultural productivity. PLNT 3560: Organic Crop Production on the Prairies introduces sustainable and low-input farming practices suited to regional conditions, while PLNT 1000: Urban Agriculture explores food production in urban settings. Crop protection is covered through courses like ENTM 3170: Crop Protection Entomology, PLNT 3540: Weed Science, and PLNT 4270: Plant Disease Control, which teach students how to manage pests, weeds, and diseases effectively.
