COURSE CURRICULUM

The Indigenous Governance program offers a diverse range of courses designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous political, social, and economic issues. Courses such as Indigenous Peoples in Canada and Introduction to Indigenous Community Development explore the history, culture, and social dynamics of Indigenous communities, while Working with Indigenous Elders emphasizes the importance of traditional knowledge and relationships. The program also covers critical contemporary topics like Indigenous Peoples and the Canadian Justice System and Political Development in the North, which delve into legal and political challenges faced by Indigenous populations. Students engage with courses like Introduction to Indigenous Politics and Indigenous Governance to gain insights into Indigenous political structures and leadership. To complement these studies, courses in economics and business, such as Introduction to Global and Environmental Economic Issues and Policies, Fundamentals of Marketing, and Managing the Smaller Business, provide students with essential skills in economic development and entrepreneurship.
