COURSE CURRICULUM

The Russian (BA) program offers a diverse range of courses designed to develop language skills and deepen cultural understanding. RUSN 1302: Introductory Russian I (3 credit hours) provides foundational language instruction for beginners. Students can explore Russian literary heritage through courses such as RUSN 1400: Masterpieces of Russian Literature in Translation (3 credit hours) and RUSN 1410: Love in Russian Culture in English Translation (3 credit hours), which examine key texts and cultural themes. Film is also a focus, with RUSN 2310: Exploring Russia through Film (3 credit hours) providing insight into Russian society and history through cinema. More advanced literature courses include RUSN 2410: Russian Literature after Stalin (3 credit hours) and RUSN 3900: Tolstoy’s War and Peace (3 credit hours), where students engage with pivotal works and their contexts.
