COURSE CURRICULUM

The English (BA) program offers a diverse selection of courses that provide students with a strong foundation in literary studies, critical thinking, and creative expression. Introductory courses such as ENGL 1200: Representative Literary Works and ENGL 1300: Literature since 1900 introduce students to a wide range of texts across periods and genres. ENGL 2000: Intermediate Writing and Research builds essential academic writing and analytical skills. Historical and thematic studies are explored in courses like ENGL 2080: Medieval Literature, ENGL 2190: Territory and Language in Indigenous Literature, ENGL 2270: Canadian Literature, and ENGL 3010: Shakespeare, offering insight into the evolution of literature and cultural contexts. Students interested in interdisciplinary and contemporary topics may take ENGL 2280: Film and Literature or ENGL 2900: Genre: Beyond High Fantasy, which examine literary forms alongside other media.
