COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Health Sciences program is a two-year graduate degree designed to develop advanced research skills and in-depth knowledge in health-related fields. During the program, students complete four core courses along with a research thesis that is conducted under the guidance of an academic supervisor and a thesis committee. The thesis represents a major component of the degree and involves independent, original research that contributes to the field of health sciences. Students admitted unconditionally are generally required to complete four to six graduate-level term courses, or the equivalent of 12.0 to 18.0 credit hours, in addition to the thesis requirement. The core curriculum includes Health Sciences 5100, which focuses on research methodologies and provides foundational training in designing and conducting health research. Students also choose between Health Sciences 5300, which emphasizes advanced statistical analysis, or Health Sciences 5400, which focuses on advanced qualitative analysis, depending on their research interests and methodological approach. Additional elective courses are selected in consultation with the academic supervisor to ensure alignment with the student’s thesis topic and career goals. Overall, the program is structured to combine theoretical knowledge, methodological training, and supervised research experience, preparing graduates for careers in health research, policy, clinical settings, or further doctoral studies.
