COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Computer Science program requires students to complete a combination of graduate coursework, a research thesis, and a thesis oral defence under the supervision of a faculty advisor. The program is designed to develop advanced knowledge and research skills in key areas of computer science while allowing students to tailor their studies to their academic and professional interests. Students must complete two core courses selected from a set of specialized topics: Computer Science 5110 Studies in Algorithms, which focuses on advanced algorithm design and analysis; Computer Science 5210 Studies in Systems, which covers topics related to operating systems, distributed systems, and computer architecture; and Computer Science 5310 Studies in Computational Intelligence, which explores artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related computational methods. In addition to these core selections, students are required to complete two additional graduate-level courses at the 5000 level, totaling 6.0 credit hours, chosen in consultation with their supervisor. This flexible structure ensures that students can deepen their expertise in specific areas of interest while maintaining a strong foundation in computer science theory and practice.
