COURSE CURRICULUM

Environmental Science program are designed to build a strong foundation in biological, physical, and earth sciences while developing practical skills for studying natural systems. Principles of Ecology introduces the relationships between organisms and their environments, focusing on ecosystems, energy flow, and biodiversity. Weather & Climate explores atmospheric processes, climate systems, and the factors influencing global and regional weather patterns. Principles of Genetics provides an understanding of heredity, DNA, and genetic variation, which is important for studying populations and biodiversity. Population Biology examines how species populations grow, interact, and respond to environmental changes over time. Field Biology emphasizes hands-on learning in natural settings, where students collect data, observe ecosystems, and apply scientific methods in real-world environments. Introduction to Geographical Information Science (GIS) teaches students how to use mapping technologies and spatial data analysis to study environmental patterns and changes. Geomorphology focuses on landforms and the processes that shape the Earth’s surface, such as erosion, tectonics, and sedimentation. Together, these courses integrate theory and practical experience, helping students understand how natural systems function and how human activities impact them. This combination prepares graduates for careers in environmental research, conservation, resource management, and sustainability-focused roles in government and industry.
