COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Sciences program includes a wide range of foundational courses that build a strong understanding of living organisms and biological systems at multiple levels. Students begin with Cellular Basis of Life, which introduces the fundamental structure and function of cells, the basic units of all living organisms. Diversity of Life explores the wide variety of organisms on Earth, including microbes, plants, animals, and fungi, and explains their classification and evolutionary relationships. Principles of Genetics covers heredity, gene function, and the mechanisms of genetic variation and inheritance. Biostatistics introduces statistical methods used in biological research, helping students analyze and interpret scientific data. Principles of Ecology focuses on how organisms interact with each other and their environments, including ecosystems, populations, and environmental processes. Cell Biology provides a deeper understanding of cellular structures, functions, and processes such as metabolism and communication. Evolution examines the processes that drive biological change over time, including natural selection and adaptation. Together, these courses provide a comprehensive foundation in biology, combining theoretical knowledge with analytical and research skills.
