Sample courses include The Anthropology of Popular Culture, which examines how media, entertainment, and everyday cultural practices shape modern societies. Cultures of the World (Series) introduces students to diverse global communities, helping them understand cultural differences and similarities across regions. Language, Culture, and Communication explores how language influences social interaction and cultural identity. Race and Ethnicity focuses on the historical and social construction of identity and inequality in different societies. Ancient Societies studies early human civilizations and their cultural, political, and social development.
