COURSE CURRICULUM

UFV’s Business Administration (Aviation) diploma combines core business education with professional pilot training, preparing students for careers in the aviation industry. The program consists of 60–63 credits, divided between UFV academic coursework and recognized flight training. Students complete 9–12 credits of non-business requirements, including courses such as CMNS 125 (Professional Communication) or ENGL 105 (Academic Writing), ECON 100 or ECON 101 (Microeconomics or Macroeconomics), and a mathematics component—either MATH 140 or direct entry into MATH 141, depending on prerequisites. An elective course outside the aviation or business disciplines is also required. The business core includes 21 credits in foundational areas such as BUS 100 (Introduction to Business), BUS 120 (Marketing), BUS 145 (Financial Accounting), BUS 201 (Human Resource Management), BUS 203 (Organizational Behaviour), BUS 247 or BUS 249 (Management Accounting or Finance), and BUS 261 (Business Law). In addition to academic courses, students must complete their flight training through a Transport Canada-certified flight school, earning a Private Pilot Licence (6 credits) and a Commercial Pilot Licence (24 credits). These 30 credits are applied toward the diploma upon verification. This flexible and integrated program equips graduates with both business acumen and aviation expertise for roles across the aviation sector.
