COURSE CURRICULUM

The Integrated Learning Design associate certificate at UFV consists of 15 credits, structured around four core courses and one elective. All core courses—ADED 325 (Teaching Adults), ADED 408 (Assessing Adult Learning), ADED 415 (Facilitating e-Learning), and ADED 425 (Curriculum Design for Adults)—are delivered online, making the program flexible and accessible. These courses provide foundational knowledge in adult education theory, online learning facilitation, curriculum planning, and assessment strategies. Students then select one elective course (3 credits) to tailor their learning to their interests or career goals. Electives available without additional prerequisites include ADED 215, ADED 320, ADED 340, ADED 365, ADED 380, GD 157*, GD 159*, and TESL 400. Options marked with an asterisk are not available online. For students meeting further prerequisites, additional elective options are available across disciplines like communications, graphic design, business, and computer information systems, including courses such as CMNS 390, BUS 416*, CIS 145*, GD 202*, MEDA 469, and TESL 410, among others. This flexible structure allows students to build valuable, interdisciplinary skills relevant to instructional design, e-learning, program evaluation, and learner engagement. The program is ideal for aspiring learning designers or educators in sectors like corporate training, healthcare, post-secondary education, government, and non-profits.
