COURSE CURRICULUM

The MBA program at University Canada West (UCW) provides a rigorous, career-focused academic structure across five terms, equipping students with essential knowledge in ethics, accounting, HR, analytics, finance, marketing, leadership, and operations. Beginning with foundational courses that examine sustainability, social responsibility, and stakeholder engagement in the Canadian context, including Indigenous perspectives, students learn diagnostic tools like PESTEL and Porter’s Five Forces. As they progress, they build proficiency in financial decision-making, business analytics, operations management, and global leadership, while also developing core competencies in marketing strategy and project management. In their final terms, students can choose between a capstone project (e.g., consulting, launching a business, academic research, or a practicum) or a course-based route that includes Strategic Management, Digital Transformation, and Small Business Management. A standout feature is the Specialization in Business Analytics, supported by certifications in Microsoft Azure and AWS, designed to prepare graduates for the data-driven economy. The specialization includes BUSI 651 (Machine Learning Tools and Techniques), BUSI 652 (Predictive Analytics), and BUSI 653 (Cloud Computing Technologies), offering students hands-on experience with real-time datasets, cloud architecture, AI, and predictive models. Delivered in partnership with leading Canadian companies and supported by interdisciplinary collaboration, this track helps students harness data to drive business strategy.
