COURSE CURRICULUM

The Technology Management specialization in the Bachelor of Commerce program at University Canada West is designed to equip future business professionals with essential technological knowledge and skills that can be applied to enhance business operations and decision-making. This specialization focuses on three key areas: technology foundation, business applications, and social aspects of technology. The technology foundation component provides students with a broad understanding of modern technologies, including topics such as cryptocurrency, financial technology, blockchain, and emerging innovations. The business applications area emphasizes how digital tools and new technologies can be integrated into organizations to improve efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness, covering subjects like e-business, e-commerce, digital transformation, managing innovation, research and development, and digital marketing strategy. The social aspect explores important issues related to technology use, including cybersecurity awareness, as well as ethical and legal considerations in information technology. To complete this specialization, students must take at least five courses in addition to the core BCom requirements, including both required foundation courses, two courses from business applications, and one course from the social aspect category. This structured yet flexible approach prepares graduates for careers at the intersection of business and technology in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
