COURSE CURRICULUM

The Marketing specialization in the Bachelor of Commerce program at University Canada West is designed to equip students with essential marketing knowledge along with modern digital marketing skills to develop effective business strategies. The program covers core areas such as marketing management, consumer behaviour, and international marketing, helping students understand how markets function on a global scale. It also emphasizes current technological trends, including digital marketing practices like social media marketing, search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, mobile marketing, and affiliate marketing. To complete this specialization, students must take six courses in addition to the core BCom requirements, with at least 12 credits from advanced 300 or 400 level courses. Students choose four courses from essential marketing subjects such as Service Marketing, Marketing Research, Integrated Marketing Communications, Public Relations in Practice and Theory, Consumer Behaviour, and Global Marketing. They must also complete two courses focused on digital marketing, including options like Digital Marketing Strategy, Content Creation, Social Media, and E-commerce. This flexible structure allows students to tailor their studies while gaining both traditional and digital marketing expertise, preparing them for careers in areas such as brand management, digital marketing, advertising, and market research.
