COURSE CURRICULUM

The Associate of Arts program at University Canada West is structured as an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to build essential academic and professional skills in writing, communication, research, and teamwork. The program includes a variety of course categories that ensure a well-rounded education while allowing flexibility based on individual interests and future goals. Students may begin with preparatory courses if needed, followed by two required English courses that strengthen reading, writing, and communication abilities. The curriculum also includes three science courses to develop analytical thinking and understanding of scientific concepts. In the core arts component, students complete six first-year arts courses that introduce foundational subjects, followed by six second-year arts courses that offer more advanced knowledge and critical thinking development in chosen areas. Additionally, students select three elective courses, which provide the opportunity to explore different disciplines or specialize according to their academic or career aspirations. Throughout the program, academic advisors are available to guide students in selecting courses that align with their plans for further education or transfer into a bachelor’s degree. This structured yet flexible approach ensures students gain both breadth and depth in their studies.
