COURSE CURRICULUM

Accounting at Trent University is structured over four terms and includes a comprehensive set of courses that meet CPA Ontario’s undergraduate prerequisites. In Term 1, students build foundational knowledge through Financial Accounting, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, and Information Systems. Term 2 advances into core accounting and finance areas with courses in Managerial Accounting, Financial Management, Intermediate Financial Accounting, and the Legal Environment of Business. Term 3 deepens technical expertise with courses in Individual Taxation, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, Auditing, and Intermediate Management Accounting. The final term, Term 4, focuses on advanced topics, including Financial Management II, Corporate Taxation, Advanced Management and Financial Accounting, and Strategic Management. This structured progression equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accounting, preparing them for entry into the workforce, graduate studies, or the CPA Professional Education Program.
